Announcement on HAAL Awards 2023

Dear Colleagues,

Upon careful deliberation by three HAAL Exco members who formed the judging panel, we are very pleased to announce that this year, Miss Yumin Wang, a 2022 PhD graduate in the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong, will receive the HAAL Award for the Best Journal Article Published by a Novice Scholar for her paper, "Diagnosing EFL Undergraduates' Discourse Competence in Academic Writing" (published in Assessing Writing on 5 May 2022).

In addition, two postgraduate students will receive the HAAL Postgraduate Student Grant for Overseas Conference Presentation. They are Mr. Liu Guangxiang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Department of English) and Miss Ling Gan from Hong Kong Baptist University (Department of Education Studies).

Congratulations to all of the awardees! Well done!

The three award recipients will be invited to present their award-winning papers at the 8th HAAL Conference (www.haal2023.com) on July 15, 2023, as invited speakers and attend an award presentation ceremony at the conference.

Best wishes,
