Dear colleagues,
We are very pleased to announce that this year, Mr Eric Yin Liu, a PhD candidate in the School of English at the University of Hong Kong, will receive the Fawzia Braine Memorial Award for his paper ‘Corpus insights into the harmonization of commercial media in China: News coverage of migrant worker issues as a case study’ (published in Discourse, Context & Media, June 2021).
In addition, two postgraduate students will receive the HAAL Postgraduate Student Grant for Overseas Conference Presentation. They are Ms Qiuhua Feng (Alice) from the City University of Hong Kong (Department of English) and Miss Yi Lin (Elaine) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Department of English).
